Genesis will keep making the same mistakes and users will keep asking why they can’t “just fix it”.

This is sharp and specific feedback — and you are right that Genesis and automation reliability depend on better API change communication.
We have shipped several improvements on this front: v6.95 introduced Automation Health Diagnostics so EVE can automatically detect broken workflows and suggest fixes, v6.99 added better retry handling for failed automation runs with toast alerts and activity notifications, and v6.100 improved automation error handling overall.
We do not yet have a formal 24-hour breaking-change pre-announcement system — that is a fair gap you have identified, and this request is on our radar for the public API and automation layer.
