YouTube Metadata: Video Description, Top "N" Comments

In addition to the transcript, it would be great if we could also grab the Description and the top "n" Comments as a reference for AI analysis to improve the accuracy of People and Place names, as well as Concepts that auto transcriptions might get wrong. During AI analysis, problems like these can be corrected in conjunction with the additional data sources.

Really appreciate the depth of thinking here — you're right that transcripts alone are a limited signal. Video descriptions often contain speaker names, product names, and structured summaries that auto-transcription misses entirely. And top comments frequently surface the key concepts and terms viewers actually use, which is invaluable context for AI analysis.
We've been expanding our YouTube automation capabilities significantly. We shipped the Transcribe YouTube Video action in v5.76, then improved it substantially in v5.175 with structured markdown output. We've also enabled YouTube as an AI agent tool in v5.106.
Pulling in the video description alongside the transcript is a natural and low-effort addition to what we already fetch. Top N comments is more involved but similarly compelling. These would meaningfully improve the accuracy of AI summaries and analyses, especially for content with technical jargon.

josh-stephens i am trying the youtube automations and can't find description pulling. and also there should be options in ai to analyze comments and give summary of users opinion. one more thing since we can embed youtube video in the tasks why cant the automation do. if the automation can embed video option that would be great

hikumar: hello, thanks for the suggestion. embedding youtube videos to tasks via automations can be under an entirely new feature request - if you'd like, you can post a new request on the forum.
for youtube automations, we currently only support getting the transcripts, and not the comments description etc. thanks for the feedback, and we'll keep in mind.

Narek Zograbian I see it as a configurable number, yes, maybe with a reasonable limit, and also combined with another parameter for how the number is applied when retrieving the comments (Most Likes, Most Recent, Most Engagement (e.g. has the most sub-comments)) with Most Recent as the default.
