Incorrect PDF Export
teducation
For PDF Exports from Taskade when opened in Acrobat Pro cannot select lines of text or convert to Docx. The photos in the link are exactly what I see. I have tried export many times in List view both on the web and Windows app version. Adobe says: This is usually the result of an incorrect font encoding when the file is first created.
Is there a bug in the PDF export? Is this happening to anyone else?
Thanks

Hi there, do you have any sort of media uploads, attachments or links within your Taskade project when exporting?

ryantaskade: Hi Ryan - it is just plain text. When I 'export as PDF' and it 'prints to PDF', all it sends is an image. Note that there is no 'preview' shown in the Export print dialogue.

1 Original text in Taskade desktop
2 PDF Desktop Export Print Dialogue
3 & 4. Open document in Adobe Acrobat Pro
5 . Web Export of PDF - but still has same problem
Note: Export as text works fine, as does export as image. Only Export as PDF has this issue.
I have noted that the extension on the Exported file is always jpg. I will troubleshoot this next.

I have tried all of the Export print options and none of them fix the problem. When I use the 'print to PDF function with a local docx file there are no issues. So I think the my local print to pdf is working ok.
However, any document or web page that I 'print to PDF' from the internet has this problem - the PDF does not format properly (it is optical). Is this 'not normal?' fo Win 11? I will try on another PC to confirm. It is the same problem with my other PC (Win10). However, both the browser of both PCs is managed by my organisation. Does not work on either Chrome or Edge for both PCs.

After all of this troubleshooting there is a key factor observed. On my system, using the Desktop App (Win 11) when the Export function is selected, the only option that comes up is 'Print to PDF'. However, on the Web version the same Export also offers a 'Save as PDF' option which DOES WORK.
Note in the screen capture that the Desktop version shows 'Printing from Win 32 app' which may be the main difference.
Photos:
- Desktop version options for Export (neither 'print to PDF' option produces the correct PDF format). It is in OCR format.
- Web version options for Export (it works with 'Save as PDF')
I think this may provide a helpful clue: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/printing-from-win32-application-new-after/881db830-6c42-450c-bb93-0a08f62ca647
