Completely hear you — if you're using Taskade primarily for task tracking and project management, having the AI chat panel auto-open on every project visit adds friction rather than value.
Good news: as of v6.84.0 (Jan 8), the Taskade AI chat panel is now adjustable, and earlier updates gave you the ability to collapse and close the chat panel independently per session. We also added a hide chat button back in v4.92.0 that surfaces in the AI Chat header.
We're looking at making panel state (open/closed) persist per-project or as a global preference, so your workspace respects how YOU work — task-first, not AI-first. That preference-based approach is something we're actively designing.
In the meantime, try collapsing the panel and it should stay closed for that session. If it keeps reopening despite that, let us know your platform (browser/desktop) and we'll dig into whether there's a bug at play here. i object strongly to it taking up more screen real estate when it is completely useless to me 99.99% of the time... because i'm much more likely to want to modify an existing project., not create a new one. give me the option to toggle it off unless i specifically want to toggle it on. grrrr. (apologies for the strong language but dang it, grrrr!)

We are looking add a legacy option that can be toggled on, that might help with this. We do not have a hard ETA on this however.

jiawei.kek Please make it top priority it's very annoying especially on mobile app it's literally killing the UX for no reason. I definitely like genesis but don't need it all the time
