Allow linking/backlinking to all taskade elements ex. individual tasks across boards, folders, projects and workspaces
planned

Currently there is no way to link tasks across boards and projects. This makes it almost impossible to keep track of the effort that is either dependent or is a dependency of other tasks and projects. Project-level mentions do not allow us to link same tasks across projects, folders and workspaces. We need fine-grained linking and backlinking.
For example. One task is a UI element. It will enable another task in marketing campaign. Both are tracked in separate projects as subtasks. There is no way for me to link them to show progress.
Similarly for dev tasks, they manage their weekly work which is tied to the product roadmap -> epics -> stories. There is no way to link to such level so devs do not have to duplicate these tasks/stories.

This is such a well-articulated request — the need for fine-grained, cross-project linking is fundamental to any serious project management workflow. You're absolutely right that project-level mentions don't cut it when you need true task-level dependencies.
We've made meaningful progress here: project backlinks launched in v5.85, and automation trigger backlinks followed in v5.100. These let you create connective tissue between related work across your workspace.
That said, we know the full vision — linking individual tasks across boards, folders, and workspaces with true bi-directional tracking — is still the goal. Taskade Genesis agents can now traverse and reference content across your entire workspace, which is a step toward giving you that cross-workspace awareness: https://taskade.com/create
We're keeping this request firmly on the roadmap. The votes here are noted and appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to describe the use case so clearly!

Linking to Tasks via [[ ]]

The Backlinking Feature is a core Element of most Outliners and Note Taking Apps. I'd love to see that feature in place, to link to all kinds of Elements in Taskade, especially other Tasks and Projects, so a proper "Web" or "Network" can form.

Could an AI agent be made to perform this formatting action?
Such as the agent converts taskade project to ObsidianMD formatting. The agent changes headings to [[ ]] or # or other markdown formatting.
Narek Zograbian
devinlewis: You can! Agents are great for formatting and such.
devinlewis
Narek Zograbian how could an agent be set up for this?
Between the agent instructions and commands I am unsure what makes the most sense to automate the process.
Narek Zograbian
devinlewis: If you export a project as markdown and then copy and paste it over to that Agent, you can have the agent format the markdown in a way that's compatible with Obsidian.
It won't execute it for you (i.e. link things in Taskade).

Hi there, to copy a link of a task, click on the triple dot icon to the right of the task and then click on Copy Link, do let me know if this is sufficient or would prefer to merge this with a similar feature request https://taskade.com/feedback/feature-requests/p/link-to-project-vs-link-to-task
peterkarlen
ryantaskade Would be great with bidirectional linking between tasks (Tools for Thought).
