Global Tag Library for Seamless Organization Across Taskade
toddpk
Hello Taskade Team,
I hope this request finds you happy and healthy!
I’d love to see a Global Tag Library feature in Taskade, allowing users to create a master list of tags that can be accessed across all workspaces, projects, and folders. Currently, tags have to be manually recreated in each location, which adds friction to workflow organization.
Why this is crucial:
🔹 Consistency – Standardized tags across all workspaces improve efficiency.
🔹 Speed – A unified dropdown when typing # eliminates repetitive setup.
🔹 Productivity – Users with ADHD, executive dysfunction (like me!), or even large teams need streamlined organization.
Taskade is already an incredible tool, and adding this feature would take its flexibility to the next level! If you also think this would be valuable, please upvote this request.
Thanks in advance for considering this!
Kindest regards,
Todd

Global Tag Library – A Game-Changer for Taskade’s Productivity Ecosystem
Hello Taskade Team,
I want to propose a refined, structured, and AI-enhanced Global Tag Library that will revolutionize organization across all workspaces while reinforcing Taskade’s position as a leader in productivity tools.
Currently, tags in Taskade have to be manually recreated across different workspaces, which adds friction to workflow management. By implementing a Global Tag Library, Taskade can eliminate redundancy, enhance searchability, and streamline productivity, especially for users who rely on AI for organization.
How It Works: A Thoughtfully Designed Hierarchy
Rather than allowing uncontrolled, chaotic hashtag creation, the Global Tag Library would function with a structured, role-based approach, similar to how Google Workspace, enterprise membership hierarchies, and even social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok manage their systems.
Organization-Wide Tags: Created and managed by the Super Admin (main billing client) to ensure standardization across all workspaces. These tags can be pre-configured with AI assistance, allowing admins to quickly generate a structured tag system based on their industry and workflow.
Workspace-Specific Tags: Project Managers, HR, or Department Leads can create tags relevant to their workspace, ensuring flexibility without disrupting global consistency.
Controlled Tag Creation: Lower-tier users (temp workers, interns, freelancers) cannot create tags freely but can request them for admin approval—maintaining organization and preventing tag overload.
Hierarchical Tag Structure: A parent-child tag system allows for better categorization, meaning that selecting a parent tag (e.g., #ClientWork) can automatically include relevant child tags (#Invoices, #Meetings, #Proposals).
Enhancing AI-Powered Productivity
Taskade already positions itself as an AI-driven productivity.... Read More I uploaded the pdf

+1 for global tags

Would be great if you could add #Tags to filter option in projects. Even better if they can be filtered across projects like a search for tags.
Narek Zograbian
samantha007: If you click on it, it should filter tasks that have that tag associated with them.
samantha007
Narek Zograbian but I think I have to type it somewhere in a task inside the appropriate project first right? Or maybe I am just not getting it. Sorry, I think I might have confused hierachy.
I would like easy access to my #Tags via filter across multiple folders (and across multiple projects).
I could use the search across the whole workspace, but it doesn't list them as tasks, I then have to click in to that search result to see the actual task.
I cannot add my own keywords to the "Filter" on the workspace home, nor on the filter at folder level.
A central place for #tags, and the option to add them to those filters so I can see all tasks with that #tag is really what I'm after.
Narek Zograbian
samantha007 Ah I see what you mean. Right now, the #tags are limited to the project-level, but you want that to be compiled across all mentions or instances. Did I get that right?
samantha007
Narek Zograbian Yes, and they show up as tasks across the workspace.
For example, I have a folder for each of my kids with various tasks and notes, but they both need to choose subjects for their next year at school at the moment. I have a list of tasks associated with this with the tag #subjects. I would like to see both my kid's #subjects tasks listed when I filter for #subjects on a workspace level.
I don't want to search because then I have to go in to each task separately, I want to see them all on the one page at the task level so I can check them off from that filtered view.
Hope I'm being a little more clear. :)
samantha007
Also, a central place to choose whether a task is added to the filter, or if it was possible to free type into the filter when needed.
Narek Zograbian
samantha007 Basically, you want to see a filtered view of all Tasks that have specific data or fields associated with it (in this case, #TaskTags)
It's almost like a much more powerful search, but it's a saved search. You'd want this to be more customizable?

There just generally needs be a way to manage the scope of tags. Default to the project it was created under, but allow Workspace Editors to make it project, folder, or workspace. Or I guess global across workspaces, but that seems much more difficult to implement intuitively.
Narek Zograbian
andretr: Scoping is very difficult. When you scope across multiple workspaces, you must account for permission issues (who has access, who can edit, etc.)
Also, does every workspace inherit your tag structure? What if someone joins a workspace with a separate tag structure—is that available for everyone to use now?
It's a pretty complex issue. Open to any feedback on this or examples of implementations in other programs.
andretr
Narek Zograbian I don't know how to solve it for you. I can merely say that it's a frequent pain point to have to recreate common tags on each project.
Narek Zograbian
andretr: That's fair! Do you have examples of other programs that have this feature? It'll help our research process.
andretr
Narek Zograbian Google "create and manage tags" and you'll get a lot of examples. Google, MS Teams, etc. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/manage-tags
Narek Zograbian
andretr: Thank you for that!

Narek Zograbian Hi Narek... are you staff? anyways I added a comment and uploaded a pdf if it would help? Please pass it along to the powers at be :) and thank you kindly in advance :)

Global #tags

Always available, regardless of context, viewed project, etc.
taskadapocalypse
I like this. My workaround is to type out all the tags at the top of my project, which is manual and I can lose track of what's new or no longer on the page. But it allows me to quickly filter the document for what I'm looking for, which is one of the best features of Taskade. Thanks!

Tags for projects
Rodion Usaev
This way each task created under a project gets the "master" tag, so you don't have to add tags every time.
Юрий Тюжин
I do different tags in different projects.
I create a "project tag collection" task, specify tags and their descriptions in the subtasks.
In general, I do not want to implement this feature, which would continue to have Taskade interface simple, clean, easy and most importantly - with a low entry threshold for new users.
