Notes copy with items
planned

I've been using a lot of the "note" addon for one of my projects, and I'd love if when we copied an item from a block it would also copy and paste the note along with it!

This is a thoughtful request — when you copy a task or block, having the attached note carry over automatically just makes sense. That note is part of the context of that item, and losing it mid-copy breaks the flow.
We've been actively improving how content is duplicated and moved across projects. In v6.101 we redesigned the Actions Menu with better content and media grouping, and v5.206 introduced cross-space copy improvements that preserve more item-level data. The note add-on itself has also received new support — v6.109 added note and file upload support in list view.
Copying notes alongside their parent items automatically is something we want to get right — it is tracked and we will be revisiting it as part of our broader task content fidelity work. In the meantime, Taskade Genesis agents at https://taskade.com/create can help you duplicate and reorganize content intelligently. Thanks for flagging this!

Hello,
To clarify, our existing copy-to feature already includes copying the note along with the task to the new project. If you are copying and pasting using the Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V commands, it might be challenging to select both the task and the note separately since the note is an addon.
jamss
ryantaskade: oh, i actually was using copy+paste. thanks for clearing that up! I wasn't really sure how exactly addons worked in relation to the actual item.

jamss: I assume you'd want shortcuts to copy everything by default when pasting it to another Taskade project?
How do you see us handling copying and pasting for other programs? Do you think people would automatically copy all of the task information and paste it to a program that doesn't support notes?
jamss
Narek Zograbian: Yes, I was hoping that when copying and pasting things, it would copy the notes as well.
I think that if you were to copy things to programs that don't use notes, there are definitely a lot of ways to handle it. I think the three I immediately thought of would be 1) deleting the note/not copying the note along with it. 2) simply adding the note onto the actual text rather than as an addon, or 3) writing the note as another sub-point underneath the parent.

jamss: Hmmm. Maybe we can offer this as a setting for what the default copying behavior should be instead?
jamss
Narek Zograbian: That sounds great!
Narek Zograbian
jamss: Ok, thank you for confirming!

ryantaskade Narek Zograbian Hey, I came here with the same request. So just to confirm I understand this correctly, the only way to copy all of the information from the task + the note add-on, is essentially through the "Copy-to" feature and duplicating a task, correct?
Like jamss, I was using the Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V commands as well. I frequently utilize the note add-on because it often contains additional information relevant to the task. I prefer to have both the task and its note copied together, rather than duplicating the task and moving it to a different project or workspace, or copying and pasting the task and note separately into a new task. Having a way to copy both at once would be fantastic!
