Please get rid of the home folder in every workspace

I really like Taskade, but I find the 'home' folder in every workspace confusing and frustrating. I want freedom to decide what folders I have and how I name them and order them. Workspace > folder > project makes perfect sense. Workspace > home folder > folder > project is just one unnecessary step I don't need. And normally means I navigate through a blank space I'm not using before I get to ones I am. It also confuses me because I don't understand why it's there, which has made me nervous in the app. From what I can see the only function that the home folder serves that is different to any other folder is that it has some settings in it that are home folder specific once you click it. But, that could be easily put on the folder column rather than in the folder itself. So, please please please, simplify my life and my spaces. Move any important home settings to a different place and let me do Workspace > folder > projects. Clean and simple

I kind of understand actually. It seems there can be some confusion as to where you are in the app. There’s no simple layout as such which then causes friction.
Then again I could be too used to the likes of things 3 being very simple.

Please don’t delete the home folder. I use it a lot

goldiemr We're trying to see how we can support the proposed structure in the future.
andyjohnston
goldiemr Don't worry, you can essentially keep it. You just make it yourself. In essence, its not different from the other folders. It just has a different icon, name, and drop down menu.
andyjohnston
Narek Zograbian If you make all folders including the home folder of one entity, except you can change the icon and name, then you could probably merge the existing home folder into a new structure without upsetting people who currently use it. Moving the drop-down should be a simple enough thing to teach people.
goldiemr
andyjohnston but I don’t want to have to rebuild it for my workspaces. If it was just converted so that it looked like the project folders I’d be ok with it, but I’ve got lots of agents , automations, and projects in my home folders.
andyjohnston
goldiemr Haha, yes, don't worry. I'm sure they wouldn't take away something that is important to existing users. This is more a question of logic for new users. It is easy to create a home folder that is fundamentally the same as any other folder. Just call it 'home'.
andyjohnston
Ooooorrrr, make it different. Make it like a dashboard with an overview of other folders. Then it has purpose. But the fact you can have projects in there is just confusing. I can create my own home folder if I need it thank you.

andyjohnston: Hey there! So something like this feature request?
andyjohnston
Narek Zograbian Thanks for responding. Not quite. They seem to be asking you to make more of the home folder. I'm saying my preference is that it is deleted altogether. I've attached an image to show you how this could be fixed very quickly. Now, if you want to synthesise the comments, then you allow people to create folders or a home dashboard in the space.

andyjohnston: Ah I see what you mean. Thank you for clarifying this! I think this would be part of an improvement to Taskade's fundamental structure and data layout.
