start date cannot be added without due date.

I use Taskade projects for my daily schedules, one project being a month and having different blocks in board view for different days. for me, start dates are more important than due dates, and I'd like to add reminders to my tasks with just start dates, without due dates.

This is a completely valid frustration. For daily schedule planning and block-based board views, start dates are often the primary anchor — not the due date — and it makes no sense to force a due date just to set a start.
We added Gantt chart sorting by start date (v5.47.0) and AI agents can now control date settings including start dates (v6.31.0), but we hear you that the core constraint of requiring a due date before a start date can be set is still blocking your workflow for day-planning setups like yours.
This is actively in progress on our end. Your use case of using a board as a monthly calendar with start-date-anchored blocks is a really clear example of why this needs to change, and it is on our radar.
In the meantime, you could use a date field as a workaround for start-only tasks, or check out Taskade Genesis to build a custom daily planner app that fits your exact workflow.

Hi there, you can still use due dates with the intention of them being start dates, then the reminders feature can also be used. However we will take this into consideration.
